TranXmart Selected as Partner for Chongqing Traffic Technology Challenge Project, Exploring New-Energy Freight Intelligent-Driving Transport Systems with Chongqing Expressway

TranXmart has entered the partner list for a Chongqing traffic technology challenge project and will work with Chongqing Digital Transportation Industry Group on research and demonstration applications for intelligent driving freight transport in mountain cities.

Recently, the Chongqing Municipal Transportation Commission completed its review of Chongqing traffic technology challenge projects. TranXmart successfully entered the list of partners for the “Research and Demonstration Application of an Intelligent Driving Transport System for Freight in Mountain Cities” project.

TranXmart will cooperate with Chongqing Digital Transportation Industry Group, the project lead and a holding company of Chongqing Expressway Group. Initially centered on the challenge project, the two sides will use new-energy tractors as the technology validation platform to develop enhanced intelligent driving algorithms and, based on an advanced single-vehicle intelligence and vehicle-road-cloud integration route, develop autonomous driving functions for complex freight road scenarios.

At present, the two parties have already begun research based on the big-data platform, focusing on vehicle-cloud collaborative architecture and data transmission paths. They will also rely on Chongqing Expressway Group's road-network resources to conduct regular real-vehicle operating validation on key pilot road sections in the Chengdu-Chongqing region.

As the project lead, Chongqing Digital Transportation Industry Group, a subsidiary of Chongqing Expressway Group, has long worked in smart transportation big-data applications. Guided by Chongqing's “one belt and three corridors” strategy, it has continued building intelligent corridors, actively expanded into new energy, and invested in charging and battery-swap station projects based on road-network resources, making it an important force in the coordinated development of the Chengdu-Chongqing “hydrogen-electric” corridor.

As a project partner, TranXmart focuses on L4 single-vehicle intelligence. With “roadside blind-spot compensation + cloud optimization” as support, it uses generative AI algorithms to improve the vehicle's decision-making capability and relies on optimization algorithms as the safety baseline. In safety redundancy, TranXmart actively follows the top-level guidance of vehicle-road-cloud integration and builds a three-dimensional safety system that goes beyond a single vehicle's line of sight. TranXmart's selection for the Chongqing Municipal Transportation Commission challenge project also marks Chongqing Digital Transportation Industry Group's strong recognition of TranXmart's autonomous driving technology and China TransInfo Group's ecosystem operating capabilities.

In February this year, the Chongqing Municipal Transportation Commission issued the Chongqing “Artificial Intelligence + Transportation” Innovation Application Action Plan, which explicitly called for promoting pilot applications of “vehicle-road-cloud integration” and autonomous driving demonstration operations, and for forming an innovation community deeply integrating government, enterprises, academia, research, and users. Notably, Chongqing is also the first city in China to obtain L3 autonomous driving licenses.

TranXmart will take the challenge project as an opportunity to work with Chongqing Digital Transportation Industry Group to jointly build a model freight demonstration route for “advanced autonomous new-energy heavy trucks.” Based on the top-level “vehicle-road-cloud integration” design of Chongqing's expressway traffic infrastructure digital transformation and upgrade project, it will also explore with Chongqing Expressway Group the implementation of autonomous driving technology on more highway freight routes across the Chengdu-Chongqing region.
